first ever homerun Derby winner Dave
Parker Dave Parker won the home run
derby in 1985 he was an all-star season
as well for him Andy finished second in
MVP voting Parker would end up playing
for the Pirates Reds A's Brewers Angels
and Blue Jays throughout his career he
made seven all-star teams he won three
Gold Gloves three silver sluggers he was
the RBI leader in 1985 and he also made
the Reds Hall of Fame Dave Parker also
had a bit of a cocaine issue similar to
a lot of players in the 80s and his
19-year career played 2466 games which
accumulated 2,700 hits 339 home runs and
1493 RBIs stealing 154 bases he had 290
with a 339 on-base percentage 471
slugging and 810 o-p-s in 1986 we had a
tie in the home run derby so we'll start
off with Darryl Strawberry of the New
York Mets strawberry would end up
playing for the Mets Dodgers Giants and
Yankees throughout his career he was an
eight-time all-star four-time World
Series champion two-time Silver Slugger
and he's also in the Mets Hall of Fame
as the years went on for Darrel his
career got worse and worse he tested
positive for cocaine in 1995 and was
suspended he's been battling health and
legal issues currently in his life right
now he's also a published author and
continues to make public appearances at
a variety of events in strawberry's
17-year career he finished with 1400
hits 256 doubles 335 homeruns 1000 RBIs
right on the dot and 221 stolen bases he
ended up with a 259 average 357 on-base
5:05 slugging to give an Opie S at 862
the second winner was wally joyner of
the California Angels Joyner would play
for the Angels Royals Padres and Braves
throughout his career 1986 was his
rookie year and it would also be his
only all-star appearance later on in the
season in 1986 a knife was actually
thrown at him during a game versus the
Yankees classic Yankee fans and he would
end up losing the Rookie of the Year to
Jose Kinte
that season in 2005 wally joyner
admitted to briefly using steroids
during his career through the help of
Padres teammate and known steroid user
Ken Caminiti after baseball he's worked
multiple jobs as a coach with
organizations in a 16 year MLB career he
finished with just under 21 hundred hits
204 homeruns 409 doubles 1106 RBIs a 289
average 362 on-base 440 slugging in an
802 o-p-s the 1987 homerun Derby winner
was Andre Dawson Dawson played for the
Expos Cubs Red Sox and Marlins through
his 21 year career he made eight
all-star teams won an MVP in 1987 which
was also the year he won the home run
derby eight time Gold Glove her four
time Silver Slugger he was also the home
run leader in 1987 as well as the nlrb
eye leader he's had his number 10
retired by the Expos and now Nationals
and he became a member of the Baseball
Hall of Fame back in 2010 Dawson
finished his crew with 2774 hits 503
doubles 98 triples 438 home runs and
just under 16 hundred RBIs with 314
stolen bases a 279 average 323 on-base
482 slugging in 806 o-p-s the 1988
homerun Derby was canceled due to rain
so the next one was 1989 in which Ruben
Sierra and Eric Davis were Co champions
so let's get a start with Ruben Sierra
Ruben Sierra played for the Rangers Hays
Yankees Tigers Reds Blue Jays white sox
mariners twins almost every team who was
a four-time all-star 89 91 92 and 94 he
also won the Silver Slugger in 89 and
was the AL RBI leader in 1989 he's also
a member of the Texas Rangers Hall of
Fame in his 20-year career he finished
with 2150 two hits 428 doubles 306 home
runs and 1320 two RBIs and he finished
with the 268 average 315 on base 450
slugging and a 765 o-p-s and then the
other co champion was Eric Davis who
played for the Reds Dodgers Tigers
Orioles Cardinals and Giants he was a
two-time all-star World Series champion
1990 he won three gold glove x' two
silver sluggers and the Roberto Clemente
award in 1997 1997 was also an
interesting year for Eric Davis who was
diagnosed with cancer and would end up
playing that season hitting a walk-off
while going through treatment in the
1997 ALCS he was inducted into the Reds
Hall of Fame and is currently a hitting
instructor in Florida in a 17-year
career Eric Davis had 1430 hits he
finished with 282 homeruns 934 RBIs with
349 stolen bases his batting averages
to 69 I'm based at 359 slugging at 42 to
give an O PS at 841 for his career
breaking into the 90s now starting it
off with Ryan Sandberg who won the 1990
Home Run Derby Sandberg would play with
the Phillies and Cubs throughout his
career making 10 all-star teams and
winning the MVP in 1984 he was a nine
time gold Glover seven-time Silver
Slugger Award winner he led the National
League in home runs in 1990 has his
number 23 retired by the Cubs he's also
a member of the Baseball Hall of Fame
Sandberg got a manager job in 2013 with
the Philadelphia Phillies and lasts
until 2015 and 16 season to play
Sandberg had 2386 hits 403 doubles 76
triples 282 home runs to go along with
1000 61 RBIs and 344 stolen bases his
career average was 285 with a 344
on-base 4:52 slugging and a 795 o-p-s
the 1991 homerun Derby was won by Cal
Ripken jr. not someone you think of as a
home run hitter he obviously only played
for the Orioles in his career 19 time
all-star the 1983 World Series champion
who's a two-time AL MVP and 83 and 91
Rookie of the Year in the prior year at
1982 two-time gold Glover eight times
Silver Slugger he won the Clemente award
in 1992 he has the record for most
consecutive games played at 2632 his
number eight years retired by the
Orioles he's a part of their Hall of
Fame as well as the Baseball Hall of
Fame he made the MLB all century team as
one of the best shortstop of all time
and currently he's an author and
business investor in 21 years of playing
he played just over 3,000 games 3184
hits 600 doubles 431 home runs 1695 RBIs
hit 276 with the 340 on-base 447
slugging to him an O PS at 788 in 1992
the MLB homerun Derby winner was Mark
McGwire and we start to get really into
the homerun hitters now McGwire played
for the A's and Cardinals throughout his
career accumulating 12 all-star game
appearances as well as winning one World
Series championship in 1989 he was the
AL Rookie of the Year in 1987 a gold
Glover in 1990 he was the home run
leader five times as well as a National
League RBI later in 1999 he's made the
Cardinals Hall of Fame not the Baseball
Hall of Fame because while steroids he
admitted to using steroids in 2010 he
broke Roger Maris's home run record
originally before shattered by Barry
Bonds he made the MLB all century team
so yes he would have made the Hall of
Fame if it wasn't for admitting to using
steroids and after playing he's coached
for the Cardinals Dodgers and Padres and
16 seasons of play Mark McGwire had 1626
hits 583 home runs
1,400 RBIs yet a 263 batting average 394
on-base 588 slug me to give him a career
Oh PS at 982 Juan Gonzales was the 1993
home run derby winner he would end up
playing for the Rangers Tigers Indians
and Royals throughout his career he was
a three-time all-star two-time AL MVP
six-time Silver Slugger and he also led
the American League in home runs twice
Juan Gonzales is a member of the Rangers
Hall of Fame but similar to Mark McGwire
not a member of the Baseball Hall of
Fame Juan Gonzales his name is connected
to steroid allegations opposed I can't
say Co has accused him of using it being
the person who introduced him to him but
to Juan Gonzales his credit he's never
admitted to it and it's never been
proved most recently Juan Gonzales was a
coach for team Puerto Rico in the World
Baseball Classic in 17 years of play
Juan Gonzalez finished with just under
2,000 hits at 1936 yeah 388 doubles 434
home runs and 1400 RBIs his career
batting average was 295 with a 343
on-base 561 slugging and a 904 career
o-p-s in 1994 Ken Griffey won his first
of three home run derby championships
who would end up winning in 98 and 99 as
well Murphy of course played for the
Mariners reds and white sox he was a 13
time all-star the AL MVP in 1997 10 time
Gold Glove for seven-time Silver Slugger
he won the comeback player of the year
in 2005 four-time American League home
run leader he also led the league in
RBIs in 97 his number 24 is retired by
the Mariners and obviously he's in the
Mariners and Reds Hall of Fame he's also
a member of the Baseball Hall of Fame
making it on his first bout receiving
99.3% of the votes he also made the MLB
all century team in 22 seasons Griffin
finished with 2781 hits 524 doubles 630
home runs and 1836 RBIs along with 184
stolen bases a career average at 284
on-base at 370 slugging at 538 and o-p-s
at 907 moving on to 1995 the champion of
that homerun Derby was Frank Thomas the
big hurt Frank Thomas would play for the
White Sox eighth and Blue Jays in his
career making five all-star teams and
winning the MVP twice for the American
League 93 and 94 he was a four-time
Silver Slugger as well as an al batting
champ in 1997 his number 35 is retired
by the White Sox and he's also a member
of the Baseball Hall of Fame Frank
Thomas is one of the few players that
played during the steroid era that no
one ever had a suspicion of peds or
allegations right now Frank Thomas is an
analyst on MLB for Fox and you can
constantly see him in new genex
commercials to boost that testosterone
in nineteen years of major league
baseball Frank Thomas finished with two
468 hits 495 doubles 521 homers 1,700
RBIs he hit 301 with a 419 on base 555
slugging do you have a no PS and 974 for
his career in 1996 the greatest player
of all time won the home run derby
that's Barry Bonds he played for the
Pirates and Giants throughout his career
14 time all-star
seven-time National League MVP the most
ever he want a cold gloves along with 12
silver sluggers throughout his career he
was a three-time nationally Hank Aaron
award winner 2-time NL batting champ
two-time home run leader his number 25
was retired by the Giants last season
and he's also a part of the Giants wall
of fame he's not a member of the
Baseball Hall of Fame because
unfortunately Barry Bonds his name is
surrounded by steroid allegations he was
a part of the Valco scandal he was
indicted on perjury and obstruction of
justice charges in 2007 he also did not
sign with the MLBPA licensing agreement
which is one of the reasons why you saw
him as John Dowd an MVP Baseball and
Reggie stocker and will be the show
Bonds career numbers are video game-like
and 22 seasons bonds finished with 2935
hits 601 doubles 77 triples and 760 two
home runs along with 1996 RBIs and 514
soem bases the only member of the 500
500 club he also walked 2550 eight times
faced with the 298 batting average for
44 on-base 607 slugging to give him a
career o-p-s at 10:51
in 1997 Tino Martinez ended up winning
the home run derby he played for the
Mariners Yankees Cardinals and raised in
his career he was a two-time all-star
four-time World Series champion of
course with the Yankees he won the
Silver Slugger in 1997 he also won an
Olympic gold medal with Team USA in 1988
after his baseball career he served as
the Marlins hitting coach in 2013 but
that relationship soon ended after he
was accused of verbal and physical abuse
of players on the Marlins specifically
dared Dietrich Tino Martinez played 16
years in Major League Baseball's 1925
hits 339 home runs as well as 1271 RBIs
he finished with a 271 average 344
on-base
471 given Oh PS 815 now Griffey won the
home run derby as I mentioned earlier in
98 and 99 so we skipped a 2000 which is
when Sammy Sosa won the home run derby
Sosa would play for the Rangers White
Sox Cubs and Orioles throughout his
career seven-time all-star MVP in 1998
six-time Silver Slugger as well as you
won the Hank Aaron award in nineteen
who's the home run leader in the
national league twice along with the RBI
leader and he had a pretty interesting
career on and off the field
in 2003 sammy sosa was ejected from a
game for having a corked bat he also got
a weird injury in 2004 sneezing and
never really played the same afterwards
he allegedly tested positive for peds in
2003 along with guys like Juan Gonzales
and others that were mentioned on that
list oh yeah and Sammy Sosa is also
white now yeah try to figure that one
out because these are real pictures in
Sammy Sosa's 18-year career he finished
with 2400 eight hits 379 doubles 609
home runs and 1667 RBIs Sosa hit 273
with a 344 on-base 534 slugging me in
878 o-p-s the 2001 Home Run Derby
champion was Luis Gonzalez Gonzalez
played for the Astros Cubs Tigers
d-backs Dodgers and Marlins in his
career he was a five-time all-star and
won the World Series in 2001 walking it
off against the Yankees and he also want
a Silver Slugger that year his number 20
was retired by the Diamondbacks and he
once sold a piece of chewed gum for
$10,000 in his 19 year career for Luis
Gonzalez finish with 2,500 91 hits 596
doubles and 350 four home runs along
with 1439 RBIs he had 283 of the three
67 on base for 79 slugging to him and
o-p-s at 8:45 in 2002 Jason Giambi won
the home run derby Giambi played for the
A's Yankees Rockies and Indians in his
career who's a five-time all-star
including an al MVP in 2000 and he was a
two-time Silver Slugger winner he also
won the comeback player of the year in
2005 after finding out he had a benign
tumor in 2004 his name was also always
linked to steroids including being a
part of the BALCO scandal and he ended
up admitting to using steroids in his
20-year career Jason Giambi finished
with just over 2000 hits 405 doubles 440
home runs and 1441 RBIs he hit 277 with
the 399 on base 516 slugging to him and
o-p-s at 9:16 the 2003 Home Run Derby
champion was Garrett Anderson Anderson
played for the angels Braves and Dodgers
throughout his career
three-time all-star was a World Series
champ in 2002 and a 2-time Silver
Slugger winner he's a member of the
Angels Hall of Fame Anderson played 17
years in Major League Baseball
accumulating 2529 hits 522 doubles and
287 home runs he also had 1365 RBIs he
hit 293 with the 324 on-base 461
slugging to give him a career o-p-s at
785 in 2004 Miguel
I don't won the MLB homerun Derby so how
to play for the A's Orioles Astros
Padres Giants and Royals in his career
it was a six-time all-star and won the
MVP in 2002 in the American League
2-time Silver Slugger Award winner and
was an MLB RBI leader in 2004 he was a
part of the Dominican Republic team that
won the World Baseball Classic in 2013
and he was also suspended in 2013 for
105 games for use of amphetamines
he's an alleged steroid user he was
mentioned the Mitchell report and Miguel
Tejada also lied about his age he was
actually 2 years older than he
originally stated Tejada would end up
playing 16 years in Major League
Baseball getting two thousand four
hundred and seven hits 468 doubles 307
home runs and 1,300 and two RBIs he hit
285 of the 336 on base for 56 slugging
to give an O PS at 791 2005 was quite
the home run derby and it was won by
Bobby Abreu
Abreu played for the Astros Phillies
Yankees Angels Dodgers and Mets
throughout his career he was a two-time
all-star won the Gold Glove in 2005 and
a Silver Slugger Award in 2004 and
during this home run derby he actually
broke the record for most home runs in a
single round at 24 and the most home
runs in an overall derby at 41 Abreu
played a total of 18 seasons in Major
League Baseball accumulating 2470 hits
along with 574 doubles 288 home runs and
1363 RBIs he also stole 400 bases Abreu
hit 291 395 on-base 475 slugging to give
an Opie SAT 7 the following year another
Philly won the home run derby and that
was Ryan Howard he played for the
Phillies in his career in towards the
end he tried to sign with a couple teams
but never made it to the major league
roster he was a World Series champion in
2008 NL MVP in 2006 Rookie of the Year
in 2005 he also won a Silver Slugger in
2006 and was the NLCS MVP in 2009 he was
a two-time MLB home run leader along
with three-time MLB RBI leader and he
holds the record for most golden
sombrero Awards in a career he's
currently an analyst for baseball
tonight on ESPN and he's also written
six children books
Howard ended up playing 13 years in
Major League Baseball fishing with 1475
hits 277 doubles 382 home runs and just
under 1,200 RBIs a career average at 258
I'm Basin 343 slugging at 515 and an O
PS at 859 in 2007 Vlad Guerrero won the
home run derby he played for the Expos

nine-time all-star and won the 2004 AL
MVP he also won eight Silver Slugger
awards and is a part of the Angels Hall

the Baseball Hall of Fame and his second
try receiving 92.9% of
votes and of course he is the father to
the beast that is Vlad Guerrero jr. who
has a chance to win the 2019 MLB homerun
Derby
Vlad senior played 16 years in Major
League Baseball with 2590 hits 477
doubles 449 home runs and just under
1,500 RBIs he faced with the 318 batting

Major League Baseball getting 16 hundred
hits 321 doubles 319 home runs and 1028

Red Sox and he was also a part of the
alleged PD test in 2003 most recently

out okay Ortiz played a total of twenty
seasons in Major League Baseball with
2472 hits 632 doubles 541 home runs and
1768 RBI he had 286 with the 380 on-base

Prince Fielder won the 2012 homerun
Derby which moves us on to 2013 which
was won by onna Cespedes which was the

won 2014 Cespedes has played for the A's
Red Sox Tigers and is currently on the
Mets he's a two-time all-star winning a
googol of in 2015 and a Silver Slugger
in 2016
he loved the Mets of the 2015 World

been the same player and his seven years
of playing in Major League Baseball
Cespedes has 865 hits 172 doubles 163
home runs to go along with 524 RBIs he's
