as with any repair be sure you've unplugged the appliance before beginning

the defrost timer is most commonly located in the refrigerator control

housing although be aware it may also be found behind the kick plate

or behind the rear access panel

if located in the control housing your first step is to gain access to the

housing's interior

remove the old timer from the housing by releasing the tabs or removing the

screws depending on your model

disconnect the wires

install the new defrost timer by first reconnecting the wires

now insert the new timer into the housing by snapping it into place or

securing the screws

reposition and secure the control housing

you're now ready to plug the appliance back in

to make sure it's functioning properly
