Hi, my name is Scott Bateman.
I'm a professional journalist and travel blogger who has visited the Caribbean and East Coast of the United States dozens of times.
I have some tips to offer you on the best times to visit Bermuda.
Bermuda isn't a class by itself.
This British overseas territory is often included in Caribbean travel guides
even though it's far north of the Caribbean Sea.
It has a lot in common with Caribbean islands,
especially beaches, cruise ships and that breezy island getaway feeling. But it doesn't quite have the same weather.
You can see on this chart the least popular time to visit Bermuda is during the winter. The most popular time is during the summer.
The Caribbean is much more popular during the winter for a good reason.
This next chart shows why. It has the average high temperatures in Bermuda by month over a 30-year period.
The numbers come from the Bermuda Weather Service.
Unlike the Caribbean, Bermuda has average high temperatures in the upper 60s Fahrenheit or about 20 Celsius during the winter.
It's too cold for beaches and swimming. But those high temperatures jump into the mid 80s Fahrenheit or about 30 Celsius during the summer.
Sea water temperatures show the same thing.
Experts say the comfortable sea water temperature range is 70 to 78 degrees Fahrenheit or the low 20 Celsius.
That means May to September are the best months for comfortable swimming in Bermuda.
Unfortunately, the risk of rain gets in the way. You can see here the most important tip of all.
Rainfall is low during the winter, which makes Bermuda appealing mainly for golfers
It climbs steadily up until reaching a high point of more than five inches a month in June,
August and September and six inches in October.
There are no guarantees when it comes to weather. But history shows the best month to visit. Bermuda is May
when temperatures are warm and the risk of rain is low. July has warmer temperatures and a somewhat higher risk of rain.
That does it for my tips. Please subscribe to my channel for more. Thanks for listening, and enjoy your vacation to Bermuda!
